Drug intelligence / Profile preview
N3-[3-(1H-indol-6-yl)benzyl]pyridine-2,3-diamine is an experimental small molecule compound containing an indole moiety and a pyridine diamine core. It has been identified as a β-secretase 1 (BACE1) inhibitor in chemical biology databases. BACE1 inhibitors are being investigated for their potential to reduce amyloid-beta production in Alzheimer's disease by blocking the cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP). There is no evidence of clinical development or approved therapeutic use for this compound at present[1][2][10].
